Humanity takes its toll Assigning yet another boring role Actors in a tragedy With the same old ending My colors are faintly fading away Until I disappear Dancing circles around the answer To the question no one dares to ask I just don't know Who I'm trying to fool I just don't know What I'm trying to prove As the choir sings their tune Silence slowly fills the room No one dares to sing along When they're always in the wrong Juliette at the windowsill Romeo is nowhere to be found Juliette slowly gets the chills From her head to the ground I just don't know Who I'm trying to fool I just don't know What I'm trying to prove Where art thou Romeo? I just don't know Where art thou Romeo? I just don't know

Your patience wears thin like the rope that you walk, always in a state of losing control And all that you see is a lost circumstance, you better be ready to take a fall Ready or not Your time has come To realize what's lost and won Yet we all hang By the hands of a clock So let’s just forget about it It’s perfectly fine to hide in your thoughts, just know it’s a dirty game that you play Not quite the first, sure as hell not the last, but it's coming fast for you and for me Ready or not Your time has come To realize what's lost and won Yet we all hang By the hands of a clock So let’s just forget about it So let’s just forget about it Just forget about it

Got nothing left to say I’ll carve your number in my arm To spark my memory But it’s all burnt up This just isn’t who I am You know you hurt me when you looked away Give me a minute or two To clear the traffic in my brain I guess it’s not that bad It’s just part of the game You know me oh too well, Helen I wish that I could say the same The stars were aligned But you were so blind Everything is okay We’ll meet again someday All I see is red When everything is blue Don’t expect me to say, “Please stay” Don’t expect me to say, “Please stay”
4.
You stand on the corner always watching Asking, “How do you feel?” I won’t let my body rule me I won’t let nobody control me Wistfully watching over your shoulder Conflicted with thoughts of angst and rebellion Your clouded judgment rains over me Anticipation for an ending I’m on trial when I’ve made no error The damage deepens, it all seems clearer Except for me and you Except for me and you Except for me and you Except for me and you The marks in your skin tell me the story Of an artist that yearns for an audience To stand amazed in all their glory Someone to listen to their nonsense Some bullshit excuse that you cooked up, When you were strung out and oh so caught up Wasting all my time, Wishing you were mine Wouldn’t it be nice? Yeah, wouldn’t it be nice It’s so easy to see It’s so easy to see It’s what you’ve done to me It’s what you’ve done to me

16 03:16
Take a look around and try to make it last Fifteen, sixteen went by so fast Being followed around by a white van Lord knows that I’ve done the best I can Paint a picture for everyone to see Only to vanish away into infamy Emotions running high and swept to the side All we say or do is not enough for you In the raging sea, here’s our last soliloquy Flickering light, will you make it through the night? Still I see myself in your eyes Now you’ll see what you’ve done to me

Nameless 04:41
She’s biding her time waiting for some savior It couldn’t be me, a victim of bad behavior Her smile, it shines - my only guiding light His words though foul, I’ll keep them in mind Short fuse with no ignition True love is an apparition Don’t ignore what it is that you wanted It feels as though I’m always cornered Disdain is just what the doctor ordered You bite your tongue and shelve frustration With patience so strong it wards off temptation Short fuse with no ignition True love is an apparition Don’t ignore what it is that you wanted I’m slumming around so just leave me alone You’ve done enough, it has me speechless There’s always some hope for tomorrow Just as long as you don’t follow Short fuse with no ignition True love is an apparition Don’t ignore what it is that you wanted You whisper sweet words to me with intentions that clearly just bring me down I wont let you this time around so don’t you dare show your face around this town

Happier Now 03:06
When the scenery remains Of what was left in flames No remnants of the past All that’s left is ash It will only rise again With nothing left to prove It’s more of the same With nothing left to do Though the damage you’ve done Outshines the good that’s come Things are looking up It took long enough Like a diamond in the rough In a state of disarray Now that’s changed I’m happier now You could spend eternity Wondering where to go Often times it’s so clear And then you know Walking backwards in a trance Holding on to what fades away It’s more of the same With nothing left to do Though the damage you’ve done Outshines the good that’s come Things are looking up It took long enough Like a diamond in the rough In a state of disarray Now that’s changed I’m happier now
8.
I can’t tell where you belong Not quite what I’ve seen before Your tattered clothes and cold blank stare Reflected specs of stars in the air Nothing else comes close When you turned white like a ghost I felt so strong in the evening glow In the shadow of a star We will all fade just in time No longer needing a place to hide Nothing else comes close When you turned white like a ghost

Letting Go 03:05
I don’t know where to look Panic strikes my mind Hoping that you’d stay I swear I’ll make some room Half of the things I say Are meaningless to you While the other half Is kept to myself Stunned without a clue Feeling the way I do Was it something I said? Or not instead? Some things that I’ve seen Would cause your soul to strain They’re better off sealed in Where they’ll remain It’s passing and fleeting, slowly retreating Uneasy feeling of absence appearing now And when all the roads Won’t take you anywhere Where can you go? I’d like to know It’s passing and fleeting, slowly retreating Uneasy feeling of absence appearing now And if this is letting go I’d rather not know Some things are better left in the dark
10.
A face that’s so forlorn A lingering despair Just outside the door In the stillness of the air It’s slowly creeping in No use in fighting now A mind that’s wandering Is present in absence They’ve told me once before that “we do what we can” My lips are sealed, I won’t promise you anything With nothing to prove and nothing to lose I’ll do what I can The mask slips down your skin It marks the end of your façade To know what lies within Wouldn’t do you any good They’ve told me once before that “we do what we can” My lips are sealed, I won’t promise you anything With nothing to prove and nothing to lose I’ll do what I can Over and over again, I won’t stop till I can’t anymore I can’t anymore I know one thing you don’t That this is all for show I’ve done things that you won’t But it’s just for show
11.
Look the other way It’s no surprise The start of our demise Turning the cheek Try to relate Or bear a cursed fate All that you’d do Would be for naught Bad karma’s what you’ve got A change of heart Pick up the pace Or you’ll soon be erased Roaming around seeking what can’t be found Open up your arms to skies above Hoping to soar like a dove Though you belong down here below You feel more like a crow Now and then you’re down and out Purity of heart To will one thing Don’t be led astray It lies within Maintain your love Or just waste away Look at yourself And not at them It only breeds contempt Better for you Better for me For the both of us Roaming around seeking what can’t be found Open up your arms to skies above Hoping to soar like a dove Though you belong down here below You feel more like a crow Now and then you’re down and out Yet we’re all so set in our old ways Wondering why we’re led astray Because old habits are hard to break When nothing’s at stake Now that you’re down and out

The years roll on by As we step to the side A grandfather clock’s embrace He gave you time, you wanted space Now you’ll just have to wait But for me it’s much too late You don’t decide your fate But if it were up to me I’d save a place for the both of us I think that we’ve had enough Now you’ll just have to wait But for me it’s much too late Yet here we stand Nails dug deep in our hands There’s no one left to blame There’s nothing left to save Now you’ll just have to wait But for me it’s much too late

about

Welp, this was my first full length record. It was a major learning experience and I'm grateful having taken the plunge into recording my own music. What felt like an impossibility at one point eventually turned into a sense of "why not just do it?" and so I did. Enjoy!

In memory of Richard Parker. Thank you for giving me the confidence early on to keep going, and the continued support over the years. You created a community for those who felt like they were not part of one.

*Note: This album was mostly re-recorded and remastered in 2020. The original 2013 audio can be found in the archive compilation at the bottom of my bandcamp page.
